Whether you’re in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, there are plenty of amazing waterparks to help you make the most of the year round Arabian sunshine. Here we compare two of the best known waterparks in the UAE to see which is better, Yas Waterworld or Wild Wadi.
We examined Yas Waterworld and Wild Wadi on Location, Price, Water Slides and Facilties. Overall, the best water park of the two was Yas Waterworld, but there wasn’t much in it!
Continue reading below to see our full comparison and why Yas Waterworld is still an incredible place to visit, despite Wild Wadi taking the crown.
Which is in The Best Location?
First of all, let us take a look at the locations of the waterparks. Yas Waterworld is situated on Yas Island, in Abu Dhabi.
There is SO much to do on Yas Island it’s hard to believe. This has to be one of the most happening places in Abu Dhabi. You could easily spend a few days on Yas Island visiting the likes of Ferarri World, Warner Brothers World, Yas Links Golf Course, Yas Mall and much more!
Yas Island is easy to access via Abu Dhabi or Dubai and there’s also many hotels to choose from close by. All of this make Yas Waterworld a fantastic location.
Next, on to Wild Wadi. Wild Wadi is located on Jumeirah Beach, next to the famous Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Souk Madinat.
Location wise, Wild Wadi definitely rivals Yas Waterworld. Situated on the gorgeous Jumeirah Beach, close to hotels, the beach, shops and restaurants, as well as Souk Madinat; there aren’t many better locations in the world!
Both waterparks offer incredible locations and ease of accessibility. For us though, Yas Waterworld offers a better location by a cats whisker. This is due to the huge amount of attractions and hotels on offer in the immediate area.
Which is Better Value for Money?
To see which waterpark has best value for money we need to look at two things. These are ratings and price. Below you can see our table of ratings and entry tickets for both Yas Waterworld and Wild Wadi.
|Water Park||Entry Ticket||Rating (Trip Advisor)|
Prices are online ticket prices for adults. For a full price structure of each waterpark visit their websites below:
Both waterparks hold fantastic Trip Advisor ratings with 4.5/5. Wild Wadi Water park is the cheaper of the two though. What’s more, entry is free if you’re staying at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. For these reasons, we believe Wild Wadi offers better value for money.
Which Has the Best Rides?
Yas Waterworld‘s rides are:
- Bandit Bomber
- Liwa Loop
- Falcons Falaj
- Al Raha River
- Bubbles Barrel
- Cannon Point
- Hamlool’s Humps
- Jebel Drop
- Slithers Slides
There is also a Rush Rider for you to try bodyboarding, a childrens splash park, cinesplash and more smaller slides.
Wild Wadi has four main water slides. These are the Jumeirah Sceirah, Burj Surj, Tantrum Alley and Master Blaster. The park also features a flow rider machine for keen surfers as well as a lazy river.
There is also a huge toddlers / young children’s section with multiple slides and a splash park.
Both waterparks offer amazing, heart stopping rides. But due to the amount on offer, Yas Waterworld wins this round with ease.
Which Has Better Food?
With all this action, you’re going to need to keep yourself fuelled up! Dubai is famous for its huge choice and quality of food. So how do these two waterparks compare?
Yas Waterworld offers five different dining options. Dana’s Diner for the likes of burgers, chicken wings, sandwiches and salads. Chubby’s Kitchen for Daal, Noodles, Chicken and Pizza. Skinny’s frozen treats for ice cream and frozen juices. Gahwat Nassar for coffee, chocolate and gift boxes to share. Salma’s snack shack for pasta, sandwiches, juice and smoothies.
Wild Wadi offers two main restaurants serving fast food such as Shawarmas, Burgers, Salads and Sandwiches. These restaurants are called Julshan’s Burgers and Dogs and Riptide Pizza.
Yas Waterworld definitely offers more choice when it comes to dining. Neither waterparks offer what you would call “5 star Dubai quisine”, but the standard is still good.
So overall, we rate Yas Waterworld as the better waterpark of the two. This doesn’t mean that Wild Wadi isn’t a fantastic day out though. If you are closer to Wild Wadi than Yas, don’t stress yourself into making a trip to Abu Dhabi. Wild Wadi still has great reviews and offers a fantastic day out for the whole family.
