What is There, and Shops?
The Gold Souq in Ajman isn’t just limited to Gold, believe it or not.. There are a stalls to buy hand bags & wallets, clothing stalls and specialist watch merchants. All types of Silver jewellery can also be purchased here as well as Gold. The mall is air conditioned and there is a great variety of styles to browse, from Arabic and Indian to European.
The beauty of buying gold in a souq in the UAE is that the price is tied in to the daily gold rate, and you can then bargain with the seller based on workmanship. Sellers at the Gold Souqs in Dubai traditionally pitch at least 25% higher than you can bargain them down to.. so make sure you bring your negotiation skills along!
Many of the traditional gold stalls will also commission a piece of jewellery based especially on your own bespoke design! The only thing to consider when doing this is whether you are local, as this could take a few days. Also, the seller will also ask that you pay up front.
